Archive and Library
The Sammlung Goetz places great importance on the art historical research and documentation of the collection’s works. The collection’s digital archive tracks the exhibition history, in addition to maintaining a register of illustrations and certificate of authenticity index, of each work. An active exchange with artists and gallerists informs the collection of new technical details about the artworks, safeguarding the proper implementation of the often-complex installation instructions.
The establishment and further development of a library has accompanied the collecting activities from the start. The library now contains more than 8000 publications, including monographs on all artists represented in the Sammlung Goetz, a selection of international exhibitions and group catalogs in which the artists participated, as well as inventory catalogs from major museums, galleries and other private collections. This reference library is available for scholarly research upon request.
