STAY INSPIRED with Bjørn Melhus
A conversation between the Sammlung Goetz and the artist about daily motivation and inspiration
My daily motivation is to stay motivated. I try to examine the phenomenology of the pandemic in media and society.
We’re all so tired of the virus dominating news, but fleeing doesn't help, because the elephant is still in the room.
So better listen, what the elephant has to say.
At the moment I am reading The Plague by Albert Camus. Although the novel was published almost 75 years ago, the narrative is very similar to what we are experiencing these days. Lockdown, quarantine, juggling with death tolls and social frustration.
I’m also inspired by all the circling numbers of virus mutations and different face masks.
To add to that, I am now creating my own FFP masks that can be seen on my Instagram channel. Mutants will follow.
